I had to go into the office on a Friday for the first time in like a year because one of my employees was giving a presentation. Anyway, apparently, the office is like party central on Fridays. I'm doing this boot camp called Train Like Jane. It's supposed to tap into your primal side as a female, hence the whole Jane thing (the one for men is called Train Like Tarzan). The snow is really kind of beautiful from 7th floor view of Lake Michigan and the city. On the ground, not so much, as I learned on my trek 4 blocks south to the grocery store (and then 4 blocks back north, of course). Sunday was fabu. Spent most of the morning on the beach with the pups, then took the bus a bit north of me and settled down at Metropolis for coffee and reading. Friday night, I used the patio/grill area of the complex for the first time. It was super-hard to light the grill and the benches were hella dirty but it was nice to eat outside. I spent the whole weekend down at my parents' place. Friday night was fun because I went to see Toy Story 3 in 3D with them (fantastic movie!), but the rest of it just reminded me why moving out was such a good idea. I'm still not sure how I did it, but I manged to write 20k in less than 24 hours and made the deadline to get my Big Bang in. Of course, I didn't spell-check it and there's tons of filler and gaping plot holes and stuff I didn't have time to expand on, but at least now I have the time to fix it up. Lately I've been spending all my free time with the dogs, pretty much, so that's why I haven't been around.
